Achmad Yanuar M.Phil., Ph.D. adalah seorang ilmuwan, peneliti dan salah satu dosen di Fakultas Biologi dan Pertanian dengan homebase Program Studi Magister Biologi, Universitas Nasional, Jakarta. Beliau menyelesaikan S1 di Fakultas Biologi Universitas Nasional tahun 1987 dan melanjutkan studi S2 (M.Phil.) di Anatomy School, Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, UK pada tahun 2000 – 2002 dan melanjutkan studi S3 di universitas yang sama, Wolfson College, University of Cambridge dan memperoleh gelar Ph.D. pada tahun 2007. Bidang keahliannya dan ketertarikannya adalah Primata, khususnya untuk jenis Kera kecil atau Gibbon, selain itu beliau juga tertarik dengan mamalia laut, khususnya Lumba-lumba hidung botol dan Pesut perairan asin (laut). Semua kegiatan penelitian beliau sebagian besar dikaitkan dengan konservasi dan manajemen spesies di alam.
